Greentopia

Greentopia is an initiative by the event industry and a number of Swedish cities to reduce their carbon footprint and accelerate the climate transition. The aim is to work with stakeholders and visitors to contribute to the goal of climate-neutral cities by 2030.

In spring 2021, the stakeholder group formulated a climate promise that was presented at The Helsingborg Summit on 3-4 September 2021. In October 2021, Greentopia received the Green Party Congress Prize, which is awarded in recognition of valuable social contributions.

On 8–11 June 2022, Greentopia@Rosendal Garden Party was organised in collaboration with FKP Scorpio and Rosendal Garden Party. Festival visitors were able to meet climate scientists, play the Climate Fresk climate game and sample outdoor food.

Greentopia@Way Out West, the event industry’s first joint climate meeting was held on 11–13 August 2022, offering a meeting place where festival visitors could test, create and learn more about sustainability.

Greentopia is a three-year initiative funded by the strategic innovation programme Viable Cities, which is in turn funded by Vinnova, the Swedish Energy Agency and Formas.

BFUF has participated in 2020–2022 as one of eleven organisations in the stakeholder/reference group. BFUF is also part of the steering group.
